During 8 months in National Hospital of Pediatrics we carried out a retrospective analysis of 104 patients with Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia. The results: 90.4% of children were under 1 year old; boy/girl: 1.36; the mortality rate was 20.2%. The significant risk factors of mortality associated with mortality of Gram-negative bacterial pneumonia were patient’s age (1 - 2 months), malnutrition, congenital malformation, the lengh of disease, degree of respiratory failure, due to bacteria such as Acinetobacter, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae and using inappropriate antibiotics. This information should create awareness in physicians who are responsible for young children with pneumonia.
