In Vietnam, tuberculosis is a major problem of public health, primary middle ear tuberculosis is a rare extra-pulmonary localization. The clinical picture is polymorphic and insidious, varying according to the patient’s status, so its diagnosis is often delayed. We reported our experience with 14 cases of tuberculous otitis media without any evident pulmonary involvement. Tuberculosis should be entertained as a possible diagnosis in patients with atypical otitis media. The diagnosis is confirmed by histopathology of granulation tissue. The clinical outcome was favorable after anti-tuberculosis therapy.
